As 2025 ends, I wanted to highlight some of our work we documented this year.
This summer, we wrapped up a unique apartment entrance door replacement in Bay City, Michigan after a vehicle accidentally backed into the building, destroying the existing door and frame.
Because the opening included lots of glass to let in beautiful, natural light, our team built a custom 3670 double-sidelite transom frame with multiple insulated glass panels to restore both safety and appearance.
This project included:
– A custom-built steel frame designed specifically around the damaged opening
– Six pieces of ½” clear insulated safety glass for the sidelites and transom
– A new SZ18 commercial steel door with a full-glass lite kit
– Reinforced Pemko Manufacturing Company Markar B1923 pivot prep for long-term durability
– A 22 Series rim exit device with glass bead kit
– New heavy-duty hinges, kickplate, drip edge, threshold, brush seals, and door sweep
– A Allegion US Falcon SC71 door closer for smooth operation
– Full professional installation and cleanup
This was a major impact-related repair, and our installers were able to remove the destroyed unit, fabricate the custom frame, glaze the new glass, and restore the entrance quickly, keeping the apartment complex secure and operational.
